My lectures finished at 12 today, i then had a calculus tutorial from 2 until 3 pm.
I understood quite well and confident i'll do just fine for the quiz next week.
Head straight back to the parking lot, through the not-so-crowded elevator and the hills outside the campus. It was really sunny, my skins probably suffered sunburn but that didn't stop me from going home. It was rare that I CAN FINALLY GO HOME SOONER THAN USUAL.
"Baby I can see your halo, you know you're my saving grace" Beyonce's song was played along my way home.. Cruising along the highway, speeding from 80-110.. What a soothing journey to be in.. perfect for the afternoon. The air conditioner was on the whole time
and it was pretty cool inside the car. Goodbye sunburn, i won't allow you stick around. In around 15 minutes, i paid the PONDOK RANJI toll and thats when the highway was starting to exhaust me. Drove a manual 29-year-old car, no power steering and it was a big sedan. You know how it felt... The legs just couldn't take it no more.

The situations then got worse. I got out via Pondok Indah and that's when the nightmare started. It was REALLY, and i meant REALLY.. CROWDED. Even more, it was flooding! Both with water and cars and motorbikes and busses and trucks and people. What the H***. Jakarta... will you ever change?
I struggled my way back through Pondok Indah, the cars were barely moving. It felt like i was slithering instead of crawling. In fact I'm sure the snake moved faster than me.. If there was a snake around.
The journed from Lebak Bulus to PIM took 45 minutes! T.I.R.E.D
I mumbled and was really pissed off. I tried to get home as soon as i can, but that was what i got. No wonder it is always a good idea to go home late, head back from the campus at 6 or 7 pm. With a frown on my face, and a blank stare.. I caught a glimpsed of a small child. He was skinny, tanned, short hair and saved by deep round eyes widely opened on his face.
The child approached each car one by one.. Starting from the front to the back while the red light seemed to froze. The face was bright though weary.. dirty and smug but the eyes won't stop talking. He raised his eyebrows every time he gazed into the cars.. Offering a newspaper that was barely interesting. Nobody seemed to care so he went on. Boy, he was tough, not even a frown on his face.. unlike me. He then reached my car, the window was slightly opened. He asked "Ka, mau beli korannya?"
"Berapaan sih dek korannya?" I asked back. He smiled.. "3 ribu ka".
I was touched by his eagerness and commitment to selling the newspaper. I bought it.
The boy, yes the boy.. had glee in his eyes and was very pleased. He then walked back to the side of the road, just in time for the green lights to show. I tuned into gear 1 and turned my face to the right. Stared back into the boy, he smiled to me.. I felt such a relieve and forgotten about the frown i had earlier. The day was suddenly bright again..
The traffic got worse and the lanes turned from 5 to 2. I was right on the 4th with another lane on my right and 3 lanes on my left. I tuned into gear 2 and a Blue Kijang Innova drove real close to my car. We were like an inch apart.
